Medium, terraced, part shaded, and well drained site. Toilets, chem., disposal, hot showers incl. (N.B.) Site closed Jan/Feb/March 2000 during which a state of the art replacement toilet block is to be installed. Electric points, meals, snacks, take away, shop-gas. Launderette and utensil washing facilities, children's play area. Advance booking advised June/July/August. Swimming pools, sauna & hydrotherapy 10 minutes.

The site is situated on the edge of the Berchtesgadener National Park (Established in 1978) that lies in the south east comer of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Free State of Bavaria and borders on the Austrian Province of Salzburg. The altitude ranges from 600 m at Königssee to 2713 m at the summit of the Watzmann. There is an aura peace and quiet, the only noise being the river, flowing from the Lake Königssee. There is a footpath/cycling track from the site, alongside the river, 200 m upstream into Königssee or downstream 5 kms into Berchtesgaden








A cruise on beautiful Lake Königssee or Lake Hintersee, a visit to the salt mine in Berchtesgaden, a gondola cable car ride up to the Mountain Jenner, a car ride around the Rossfeld Höhenring Alpine Road followed by a visit to Kehlstein (Eagles Nest) the summer retreat of Adolf Hitler or the artist's dream village at Ramsau.


How to get there

From Munich leave motorway at Bad Reichenhall and take B 20 to Berchtesgaden, turn right at railway station keeping on B 20 to Königssee, turn right immediately before large car park, sit on right 20 m.

From Italy & southern Austria leave A 10 at Salzburg (west) and take 305 to Berchtesgaden, turn right at railway station on B 20 and as above.
